2   Introduction to DDEX 09:00 – 09:45


  • DDEX standards have been designed to be used to communicate data in the context of a wide range of business transactions right across the digital music value chain. This session will introduce attendees to how DDEX is set up and managed and how it creates its standards. There will also be a brief explanation of the various standards DDEX has published including description of the nature of the data communicated by each standard.

3   Introduction to the Musical Work Right Share Notification choreography standard 09:45 – 10:30


  • The Musical Work Right Share Notification choreography standard (MWN) is one of the four Musical Works Data and Rights standards and enables companies to exchange information relating to claims of ownership of musical works embodied in releases. This session will introduce attendees to the two parts of the standard. There will also be an explanation of the scope of the profiles and the structure of the messages.

4   MWN implementation benefits and experiences 10:45 – 11:15


    • This session will feature two presentations that focus on practical aspects of the MWN standard. The first presentation will explain the business benefits of implementing MWN. The second presentation will be by an organization that has already implemented v1.1 of the standard and can talk about their experiences with using MWN in a live system.

  • This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the speakers from Session 4.

6   MWN implementation: musical work registrations 11:30 – 12:15


  • This session will feature three presentations describing how the MWN standard can be used for registering musical works with collective rights organisations (CMOs) for musical works. The speakers will give the perspective of music publishers and CMOs.

8   MWN implementation: using service providers13:15 – 14:00


  • This session will feature three presentations describing how the MWN standard is implemented by service providers such as Vistex and ICE. The first two presentations will focus on the implementation of the link notification profile from an independent publisher’s perspective, highlighting the new MWN-related functionalities being rolled out across Vistex products.
