Tool
A Thing that is used in doing something to an Entity without becoming a part of it.
Comments Tool: Scope
A Tool is a Tool which is used in Doing something to a PatientDoneTo without becoming part of it. It is contrasted to Material, which becomes a part of the PatientDoneTo: for example, in painting a wall, the paintbrush is a Tool while the paint is a Material. Tools include all things conventionally used as tools and instrument, but may include Resources of almost any Type, such as Persons and Contexts. For example, if piece of wood is used to prop up a table leg, it is a Tool; if it is used to replace the table leg it is Material.
