Thing
An Entity in a Context playing a role other than that of Time or Place.
Comments Thing: Scope
Thing is the "catch-all" parent for other entities. Things may be physical, digital or abstract concepts, and include the Products, Releases, Recordings, Works and other human-made Creations which are the objects of creative and commercial activity; but Thing also includes the people or organizations (Parties) who can act as agents, and all forms of tools and materials which may be used or referenced in the processes described within DDEX.
Relationships      
Parents Entity Something that may be represented by a Name.
Children AgentA Thing which is a cause of an Event.
 AttributeA Thing that is possessed by another Thing (an Owner).
 CategoryA characteristic of an Entity expressed as a fully-defined lexical or numeric value.
 OutputA Thing that is brought into existence by an Agent.
 OwnerA Thing that possesses another Thing (an Attribute).
 PartyA Thing that is a human or other animate being (real or imaginary), or a legal person, an organization or a machine capable of playing a role as an Agent (or active Thing).
 PerceivableThingA perceivable Thing.
 PersistentThingA persistent Thing.
 RelatorAn Entity that describes the nature of a relationship between one Entity and another.
 ToolA Thing that is used in doing something to an Entity without becoming a part of it.
 UnitOfMeasureA standardized Quantity used for measuring by comparison.
