Timbales
Shallow, single-headed drums with metal shells used in Latin music. The player, or timbalero, can play very expressively using a variety of stick strokes, rim shots, and rolls. It is often as a featured or solo instrument, as typified by the virtuosic timbalero Tito Puente.
