Sounds clear and sweet. Prominent family of duct flutes in the Western classical tradition of music. Generally has seven finger holes for adjusting the pitch. Common from the medieval period up through the Baroque era, but fell out of favor after that. Often used in modern times as an educational instrument for children. |
