NewFlamenco
Combination of traditional flamenco guitar and singing styles with various contemporary popular music styles such as jazz, salsa, and rock. Developed from traditional flamenco in late 1970s Spain in response to the traditional style’s popular displacement by rock music in the 50s and 60s. Prominent artists include Paco de Lucía, the Gipsy Kings, and Rosalía.
