Folk
Refers both to the traditional folk music of the British Isles and of North America (typically the music of the people, as opposed to classical music - the music of royal courts, aristocracy, and the well-to-do) and to modern genres which primarily take influence from those traditions (particularly during and after the 20th century folk music revival).
