NameDesignation
A supporting term for the messages.
A designation of a Name.
Comments Scope:
A NameDesignation is a representation of a Name. A Name is a Concept which may be expressed in different NameDesignations. See also comments on DescriptorDesignation.
  Examples:
Types of NameDesignation include an IndexedName (for example, Smith, John as another Designation of the NameDesignation John Smith); a NameInTimesNewRoman10Point where the name is shown in a particular font and font size; a TransliteratedName where the letters of one alphabet are systematically substituted for another; and an AbbreviatedName, but only where the abbreviated form is constructed systematically from the original (for example, Jones Ltd for Jones Limited or John H Smith for John Harold Smith). An Acronym is not a NameDesignation of the full Name, but of a different Name because there are no systematic rules for deriving an Acronym. Variations in spelling, punctuation and spacing, unless they are systematic, are not NameDesignations of the same Name. For example, William Shakespeare and William Shakspear are Designations of different Names; Mr Smith and Mr. Smith are Designations of the same Name if the domain in which it is used accepts a rule which says that Mr. is always equivalent to Mr when used in a Name, but Magician and Magic Ian do not represent the same Name.
