Work

A supporting term for the messages.

A distinct, abstract Creation of the mind whose existence is revealed through one or more expressions (e.g., a Performance) or Fixations (e.g., a physical object or a digital File).

Comments

Example: A MusicalWork recognized through its Performances, or a LexicalWork recognized through its Texts. Note that in DDEX the term 'Work' does not necessarily carry any legal connotations.

Parents	Abstraction	A Class derived from the identification of common attributes of two or more Entities.
Children	Brand	A conceptual Creation under whose name(s) and image(s) goods and Services are provided.
	Compilation	A CreationSet containing two or more Works in their entirety and which occur sequentially and distinctly within the new Work.
	LexicalWork	A Work whose Manifestation is in words.
	MultimediaProductionWork	A Work originally composed for use within a multimedia production not intended for broadcast. Examples: CDI, CD-ROM.
	MusicalWork	An abstract Creation which can be expressed and fixed through sound with or without Lyrics.
	NonMusicalWork	A Work other than a MusicalWork.
	ProductionMusicLibraryWork	A Work recorded for use primarily in audio-visual productions or broadcasts.
	RadioProductionWork	A Work specifically created for use in a AM/FM radio production.
	ResourceSetAbstraction	An abstract entity representing a bundle of one or more Resources.
	TheaterProductionWork	A Work specifically created for use in a theatrical production.
	TvProductionWork	A Work specifically created for use in a traditional television production.
