Descriptor
A supporting term for the messages.
A Name or Annotation of an Entity expressed as a partially-defined or undefined data value.
Comments Descriptor, Name and Annotation:
A Descriptor is the union of Name and Annotation: that is, every Descriptor must be either a Name or an Annotation, or both.
  Scope:
A Descriptor is one of the three basic ways in which an Entity acquires an attribute (the other two being Category and Relator). Descriptors include every kind of label, name, identifier, description, note or other Resource which denotes or references an Entity. A Descriptor may fulfil both naming and describing functions. Descriptors are typically but not necessarily lexical (e.g., Symbols may function as Descriptors). They may be spoken or written and may therefore be heard or seen.
