Backup |
A duplicate instance of data that is created using backup software. A Backup is used
as a means to restore original data in case of deletion, corruption or loss.

Convenience |
An instance of data created solely for the user's convenience. Examples are various
versions of a mix for comparison purposes.

Copy |
A reproduction of an original file or data set. |
|
Documentation |
Hard copy or online resources that describes the data set to users in various ways.
Examples include Credits Lists, Track Sheets, Studio Setups, etc.

LongTerm |
A duplicate instance of a data set that is intended for archival storage. Long Term
archival sets are normally created using established, non-proprietary software.

Master |
Data that is the original source from which copies can be made. |
|
Safety |
A duplicate instance of a data set. It is used as a replacement of the original data
set in case of deletion, corruption or loss.

|
StorageContainer |
A box or other storage device that can hold tangible contents, e.g. plastic tub. |

Transfer |
A new Creation derived from existing data in a different format. Examples include the transfer of
an analog tape reel to digital wave Files.

WorkElement |
A RecordingComponent that is intended for use only during the creation of the final SoundRecording.
