Release Delivery

These are the DDEX standards that are relevant to Release Delivery. Each standard is presented in more than one version, which reflects the development of the standards as new business models and requirements have been identified. You are advised to either use the most recent version of each relevant standard or agree which version is to be implemented with your business partners. DDEX has developed one message suite standard and two choreography standards which support Release Delivery.

Electronic Release Notification Message Suite Standard

This standard provides a suite of messages that give a uniform mechanism to enable Release Creators (usually record companies) to inform DSPs about Releases, whether they are newly created or "back catalogue", that are available for distribution to consumers. This standard also enables Release Creators to inform DSPs in a standardised way the terms and conditions under which such Releases can be made available. The standard also defines how updates to Releases and/or to terms and conditions can be communicated.

Profile Standards for Release Delivery

These business and release profile standards are a sub-set of the Electronic Release Notofocation Message Suite Standard which enables communicating new Releases for certain specific business models. They have been developed to ensure a uniform of the Ectronic Release Notofocation Message Suite Standard across multiple data providers. Release profiles specify the structure of Releases (e.g. how to communicate an Album or a Long-form Video) whereas Business Profiles specify the commercial aspects of a product (e.g. how to communicate with a download service or a subscription streaming service).

Choreography Standards

The choreography standards provide a uniform way to efficiently exchange information in the digital supply chain. They are based on a common Message Exchange Protocol Standard.

Choreography Standard for Electronic Release Notification

This choreography standard provides a uniform way to efficiently exchange Release information.

Choreography Standard for Catalogue Transfers

This choreography standard provides a uniform way to efficiently exchange information about Releases that are transfering from one Release Creator to another.
