DDEX's Programme of Work
Major New Work Items
- Automation of the mechanism to
exchange DDEX messages as well as Resource files
using FTP and Web Services;
- Standardisation of choreographies
around the exchange of ERN and DSR messages;
- Development of Business Profiles for the ERN
and DSR standards. Each Business Profile will
address one specific use case (e.g. a sales report
for a download of album Releases in France to a
record company) and how it can be implemented using
appropriate DDEX messages, DDEX choreographies and
the DDEX message exchange protocol.
- Develop a Conformance Framework for users of
DDEX Standards;
- Facilitation of an open workshop to examine the problems
associated with music industry identification systems in
the digital environment and determine actions that can
be taken to reduce them (in partnership with
CISAC and IFPI);
- Handling of "hybrid" Releases, i.e. Releases that
comprise several parts some of which may be
physical artifacts such as concert t-shirts or "drop
cards";
- Support for the communication between
neighbouring rights societies such as PPL and
SCPP with their business
partners (such as record companies and users of sound
recordings).
Maintenance of Standards
Besides working on new work items, DDEX
constantly reviews its existing
standards and
documentation to ensure they remain relevant to
the digital media supply chain.
