European Music Rights Organisations announce commitment to DDEX messaging standards
Five major European Music Rights Organisations (MROs) have announced their commitment to adopt the DDEX messaging standard for the receipt of sales information reported by licensed online distributors of music. The Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) is a standards development organisation set up in 2006 by the major record labels, online music distributors and music rights societies. DDEX was set up to develop and encourage the adoption of standard XML message formats to improve the current exchange of data between companies operating in the digital media content value chain.

DDEX Membership Growth Creates Need for New Structure; Kirit Joshi Elected Chair
Digital Data Exchange ("DDEX") has announced the launch of a new membership structure, which is aimed at accommodating further membership growth following recent increases in membership and in particular the addition of three new Charter Members. Microgen Aptitude Limited, Phonographic Performance Limited and Société Civile des Producteurs Phonographiques (SCPP) have all recently accepted invitations from the DDEX Board to become Charter Members and take seats on the DDEX Board.

The Orchard Selected To Join DDEX Board.
Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) announced today that The Orchard has joined DDEX as a Charter Member and has accepted a seat on the DDEX Board. The Orchard joins existing DDEX Board members including music content companies EMI Music, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group; music rights societies The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), The Harry Fox Agency Inc. (HFA), The MCPS-PRS Alliance Limited, Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) and Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de Musique (SACEM); and digital and mobile service providers Apple Inc., France Telecom, Microsoft Corp., RealNetworks Inc®, and Telefónica Servicios de Música S.A.U.

Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) has announced a number of implementations of the organisation's digital communication standards.
Implementations are in progress by digital music service providers including iTunes, Muzak, Real Networks, SFR and Telefónica Servicios de Música S.A.U., music content companies SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT and Warner Music Group, and music rights societies, ASCAP, BMI, HFA, MCPS-PRS, SACEM, SGAE and SUISA.
