Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard
The DDEX Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard provides a mechanism for members of the digital music delivery chain to inform their business partners about mismatches and errors in data they receive via DDEX messages such as those defined in DDEX-DSRM-20-2007 and DDEX-ERNM-201-2008. However, the Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with all other current and future DDEX Message Suite standards.
The DDEX Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard is intended to be used to inform business partners about data mismatches with respect to the content of the messages, i.e. data mismatches that are being detected when evaluating the various fields that make up the message. This typically happens, when ingesting a DDEX message received. For the avoidance of doubt, the Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard is not intended to handle errors that are introduced thorough the message exchange mechanisms or issues relating to messages not being able to be validated against a DDEX Message Suite's XML Schema.
High data quality is of crucial importance for the success of the digital music value chain and with this Standard, businesses are given a tool to report mismatches, errors and/or inconsistencies to their business partners. Together the parties can then resolve the reported issues by correcting any mistakes in their respective systems and by sharing the corrected data. Such corrective action is, however, neither part of nor mandated by this standard.
The DMM Message Suite Standard is available from the Standards Documents page on this website.
