MusiqueConcrete
Experimental electronic music that involves the manipulation and layering of tape recordings. Its theoretical underpinnings were developed by the French composer Pierre Schaeffer in the early 1940s. The term concréte refers to the fact that the music is fixed and does not change from performance to performance.
